Hi! When I was 16 I weighed in around 185lbs. I started high school at 156lbs so I don't know how it crept up there so quickly. I was determined to lose it so I just started making small healthier decisions. I would bring green peppers and sandwiches in my lunch instead of buying pizzas, I'd play tennis after school instead of rushing home for a snack. Once I started feeling more confident I began waking up in the morning to go jogging outside (much more fun, although treadmills and bikes are alright indoors). Slowly my clothes got too big. It was kind of a miracle, but I was back at 156lbs in a matter of a school year. Now, at age 20, I'm 142. My weight fluctuates, but going for walks and trying to choose healthier foods and appropriate portions really helps. Good luck.
